Engine/Language: Unity Engine, C#. Development Time: 1 Day. Roles: Programmer, Designer. Purpose: To see how long it would take us to re-create a successful mobile app. Features: Tap either to the left or the right of the cube to add force, procedurally generating barriers and obstacles. The Idea: This was the first time developing for android so myself and a friend decided to see how long it would take us to try and recreate the top rated free app on the play store at the time. The challenge was to recreate the games main features as fast as possible whilst putting our own spin on it. How It Works: The user must tap either to the left or to the right of the cube, this will add an upward directional force to the cube. The user must apply this force at the correct time in order to avoid the obstacles as the cube climbs higher. Extras: The barriers and obstacles (the coloured objects) are procedurally generated using a set of rules so as though they are always passable by the player, this saved us a lot of development time as we were unsure about how high a user would be able to climb. |
