Engine/Language: C#, Unity. Development Time: 3 months. Roles: Programmer, Designer, Artist, Audio. Team Size: 3 Purpose: For Professional Project at Abertay University for a professional client. Features: Options Menu, Full story system, 1 puzzle level, 2 controllable characters with different movement systems, possessable objects, Coop-character style puzzles, All animations created by myself. The Idea: We were given a basic brief by our professional client which explained that they wanted a coop-character style puzzle game. We decided to go with the idea that the main character had been killed and the player has to work out who killed them by controlling a zombie and ghost version of the main character. The zombie version is heavy and the brute character so is able to collect items whereas the ghost character is lightweight can fly and has the ability to possess objects in order to help the zombie version get around the map and complete the levels. How It Works: The user has the ability to control the zombie or ghost character at any point during the level. The goal for every puzzle level is to get the zombie to the end of the level and pickup a murder weapon clue that will lead to the murderer. The ghost character can posses objects such as levers and generators which in turn will move/rotate walls and platforms in the level. By using the ghosts possess ability the player will be able to direct the zombie character through the level and make it to the end. Extras: I received a B+ for this application. This project was to replicate a client to company style relationship which we were to present our idea as if we were looking for funding all the way to the final product. Our client was based in Canada so all our meetings were online and done through video chat as a team. |
