AboutPlatform: PlayStationVita
Engine/Language: C++, PsVitaLibrary. Development Time: 3 months. Roles: Programmer, Designer, Artist, Audio. Purpose: For Applied Game Technologies at Abertay University. Features: AR gameplay mechanics (Mirror object marker, Slingshot real-time dynamic object marker, Instruction object markers), ability to create your own 3D AR character, custom AR character creator, 2 puzzle levels. The Idea: The idea behind puzzler precision came when trying to think about fun and exciting things to do with AR. When creating the game there wasn't too many puzzle style AR games and especially not too many that used the AR markers in a puzzle based way. How It Works: To begin with the user is able to create their own custom player model using AR, they have the ability to choose from 5 different object and scale/rotate/position them however they want in order to make their player model. Once in a level the user must place the first AR marker in view and this will spawn the puzzle levels components into AR, the user then has the option to place the second AR marker which will display the instructions of how to use the different objects. The mirror object is used by placing marker 3 in view and this will spawn a mirror onto it, depending on the rotation and how the mirror is placed this will then reflect bullets being shot from the cannon in that direction, this is used to hit targets and progress. The slingshot object is used by placing marker 4 and 5 in view, by dragging the 5th marker the slingshot will display how the rock will be launched by giving guidelines, the further back the marker is pulled from the slingshot the further the rock will be flung and same to do with the rotation between the two. Extras: I received an A for this project. All artwork was created by myself and this was the first time I had modelled in 3D. |
